Greenway Phase III dedication set May 15

Named for Dr. Ashley Smith Jr.: Greenway, Nature Center opens at CMS 
The Dr. Ashley Smith Jr. Greenway and Nature Center was opened  recently at Cleveland Middle School. The center is located behind the school next to Candies Creek.  The center will be used as an outdoor classroom and includes a 0.6 mile walking trail that is part of the Cleveland Greenway Network.  (Published November 15, 2007 12:14 PM EDT)

Groundbreaking begins official start of work on Phase III of the Greenway
Friends, elected officials and members of the Mouse Creek Greenway Committee lined up for pictures with their shovels Tuesday morning for the ceremonial groundbreaking for Phase III. Southeastern Palm Society adopts portion of Greenway

Greenway Board Hears Report From Environment Club

Fisher says Greenway functional

Downtown Greenway Connector Unveiled
Members of the Cleveland/Bradley County Greenway Committee and local government officials Monday inaugurated a 3.6-mile "downtown connector" which will take in historic downtown sites, as well as Centenary Avenue and Ocoee Street homes, Arnold School and Lee University. Greenway is a treat for trail users
Walking along the paved path as it snakes its way through Mouse Creek Greenway, a person can see the water bubble and foam as it runs through, around and over rocks in Mouse Creek. Small rapids form in the choke points, but the water is too shallow and too slow to generate whitewater or the rushing, roaring sounds of the Ocoee River. This is Mouse Creek, a small, lazy stream that gurgles as it flows through Cleveland between 20th and 25th streets. (Sunday, January 04, 2004 6:00 AM EDT)
