Where is the Greenway?
Phase I was completed in 2002 between 20th and 25th Streets along Mouse Creek and is approximately ½ mile. Funding came from a local Parks & Recreation grant with matching funds from the City and County. Bank of Cleveland and Bowater made significant contributions to this phase, and the Church of God International Offices gave a gift-in-kind of land fronting Keith Street.

Phase II originates at the 25th Street underpass and snakes from 25th Street to Raider Drive. It was dedicated on August 3, 2005 with a formal ribbon-cutting ceremony. It includes a 10 foot wide trail with a trailhead/parking area at Harris Circle and is approximately ¾ of a mile long. If features a foot-bridge at Northway Plaza, an underpass under Keith Street and a trailhead at Raider Drive. Funding for Phase II was provided by a TDOT Enhancement Grant and the City of Cleveland. In addition, right-of-way gifts were given by Cooke's Food Store and First Tennessee Bank.

Phase III was also funded with a TDOT Enhancement Grant and other donors along the way. It originates at a 20th Street underpass, through another underpass at 17th Street and terminates at Willow. Highlights include a footbridge between 17th and Willow, a Rotary Centennial park and picnic area and a columned entrance at the Willow Street gateway. It was dedicated in a ceremony held on May 15, 2008.
A sidewalk connector from Willow Street to Highland Avenue at 8th Street was included in this phase to link the greenway to Arnold School and the downtown sidewalk system.

Phase IV of the Greenway will be under construction in portions through 2010. Phase IV is in two parts. Starting at the Paul Huff Parkway bridge, an underpass connects the completed section on the north side between Paul Huff and Mohawk Drive. On the south side of Paul Huff, the greenway continues to the perimeter of E.L. Ross School property. The Part B section follows the west side of Mouse Creek to connect with a completed passage under the Mimosa Street bridge. Eventually, the greenway will cross Mouse Creek via a pedestrian bridge to connect with Tinsley Park.

Phase V connects Phase III, which ends at Raider Drive, and Phase IV where the pedestrian bridge crosses to Tinsley Park. An underpass at Raider takes the path north behind Cleveland High School stadium. It crosses Mouse Creek near the end of the school property and connects with the Tinsley Park trail. The trail proceeds north to the park and continues behind the park softball fields where it connects with the pedestrian bridge over Mouse Creek. This phase also has connecting sidewalks to the retail plaza on William Way and Northwood subdivision.

Phase VI will begin at the southern end of Phase III at Willow Street and head under the Willow Street bridge, going south. It will proceed along the banks of Mouse Creek until it will cross the creek near the intersection of Inman and Keith Street. Another bridge crossing Mouse Creek will take the greenway to its southern terminus, under the Inman Street bridge to end at the Village Green shopping center.

Downtown Greenway Connector
In April 2006, the Downtown Greenway Connector was introduced as part of the master plan for the Greenway. The Connector takes in many historic sites, and connects with the Greenway at the portal at Willow and Keith Streets. The route can be entered anywhere along the approximate 4 mile route. The route is marked with Greenway logos.
You can follow your own trail on the Greenway by looking for these markers:

The Greenway Network is a group of paths located in Bradley County for the purpose of providing safe and accessible options for casual and recreational walking. Each of the Network locations meet minimal qualifications, which include public access and parking and a solid designated walking surface of at least a quarter mile in length which is free from vehicular traffic. Some of the areas also include picnic or recreational areas, distance markers and public restrooms.
